Never Said (Demo)

She up and went
I'm getting used to that now
But what it meant
I can't be sure any more
One thing's for certain
She's not the main thing on my mind
It's still you, it's still you
At least she never said that she loved me
The way you said it
At least she never said it was forever
And then turned on her heels
At least she didn't take all the love I was able to give
And throw it back in my face
At least she never told me she wanted me
Always always always
I suppose that's something
She must have seen
My heart wasn't in it
It's never been
The same since you've gone
I'm a different person
And I don't like the changes you've forced upon me
Thanks a lot, thanks for nothing
At least she never said that she loved me
The way you said it
At least she never said it was forever
And then turned on her heels
At least she didn't take all the love I was able to give
And throw it back in my face
At least she never told me she wanted me
At least she never told me she wanted me
Always always always
I suppose that's something
I suppose that's something

Commentary

This was exactly how I felt at the time about a certain romantic balls-up, but I have no empathy with the gloomy bloke in many of these songs now. He was someone I lost touch with a lifetime ago and a complete stranger to me now.
