Escape Into My Arms

Written by Jim Irvin, Tim Whelan, Hamilton Lee

Published by Copyright Control

Well I know how it gets
When you're certain you're all alone
Full of regrets
Wondering where you went wrong
There is sure to come a time
It's more than you can take
That shiny shield you hide behind
Is bound to crack and break

It's a narrow minded town
There's no benefit just the doubt
And every shutter's down
When you need to talk it out
When you hit the bottle
When you're in a jam
The world is full of good friends
Who couldn't give a damn

When you're one left to turn to
You can escape into my arms
When you've nowhere left to run to
Run and escape into my arms

I will hold on to you tightly

It's not comfort you want
And you're happy to stay this way
If things go wrong
I still stand by these things I say
You're looking out for love affairs
With the loss built in
One day pain and pleasure stop
And panic will set in

When you've no one left to turn to
You can escape into my arms
When you've nowhere left to run to
Run and escape into my arms

I will hold on this time, tightly

Commentary

Another re-do from When The Boom Was On. Always loved Hami's brushed drums and the watery, tremelo piano on this.
