Recently, some friends of mine Have been dancing the hard bargain. Get out the knives and join in. Find a sweet coquette who's playing hard to get And start dancing the hard bargain. These days they seem to spend their time Dancing the hard bargain. Get in a drink and join in. Accept a cigarette, they'll want to heavy pet And start dancing the hard bargain. That's all they want to do. Suddenly seems that everyone is dancing the hard bargain Throw in your keys and join in United in their quest, they want to pass their test. And start driving a hard bargain. Honestly I can't see the fun in dancing the hard bargain. Get out your brain and join in. Party to your grave. Think of the time you'll save. Just by dancing the hard bargain. Do it the best We intend to do it the best. We want to do it, and do it the best.
Commentary
Our first single, released on Survival early in 1984 and the first release to officially recognise Sally and Maya as permanent members. Tim's brother Larry also played sax with us at this stage. Included mainly for documentary purposes and as a tribute to the flame-red Farfisa organ it was played on.
